SITE GALLERY PHASE 1 : Sheffield

Pegboard Reinvented

The Site Gallery is Sheffield's flagship international contemporary art centre.

We were commissioned to refurbish the front of house spaces at Site Gallery to create a more comfortable place for visitors. Pivotal to getting the spaces to work was to reconfigure the escape lobby, allowing a link corridor to be used for access to computers and information.

The new spaces are lined with a bespoke pegboard which alters the acoustic, acts as retail display and creates a series of notice boards. The reception counter was replaced by a low desk and the new benches encourage people to browse and research information about the work on exhibition.

The cafe fit out and graphic treatment of all the front of house spaces will form Phase 2.
