Living in a garden



A gorgeous garden setting inspired the design and materials for this new house. The main part of the house is made of cedar shingles with a tall roof to let light flood into the living space and bedrooms. A lower built brick section along the boundary contains the kitchen, bathroom and utility which reduces the scale of the house next to the neighbour and relates back to the adjacent house.

The bedrooms and living space have large windows opening onto the garden with long views across the wooded street. We are currently designing the detailed construction ready for a start on site.
