The designer of a number of well-known buildings in the region has scooped two top awards.

Simon Gedye is the winner of two Royal Institute of British Architects 2014 regional awards. Simon set up his own practice called Studio Gedye in Hathersage in 2008, and has worked on a portfolio of projects in the area including Sum Studios, a £2 million project in the former Ann’s Grove School at Heeley. He also designed the Discovery Centre at Longshaw.
His accolades at the RIBA East Midlands Awards 2014 were for The Studio, where Studio Gedye is based. It won the Small Projects Award and an overall project award.

Simon said: “It feels very special to be recognised by the RIBA for one of our designs. The team works hard to create inspiring places for people to live and work and it is great to be recognised.”
